Our purpose
and History

Vision
A vibrant, preserved Colonial Lake Park that serves as a permanent sanctuary for nature and a thriving hub for the Lawrence Township community.
Mission
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we are dedicated to preserving the natural landscapes and ecological integrity of southern Lawrence Township, New Jersey. By protecting our dwindling open spaces, we foster a deeper sense of neighborhood connectivity and ensure a resilient, green future for our community.
Our Story
What began as a grassroots effort to protect our local landscape has grown into a lasting commitment to conservation. Originally formed to prevent hotel construction on land adjacent to the water, our group successfully advocated for a better use of the space.
With the vital support of the Lawrence Township Town Council, we collaborated with state, county, and municipal agencies, as well as conservation groups, to purchase the land. Today, that property is successfully integrated into the existing park—ensuring that this green space remains a public treasure for generations to come.
